The company
Smart Actuation are a growing company based in Rochdale. We support sales of a variety of products into customers in the UK water industry. As support and commissioning technician, you will conduct site reports for customers assessing the suitability of proposed installation locations and commissioning of the products which involves using proprietary software to set end positions of the actuators and input bearer settings. These actuators utilize SIM technology and each actuator is usually setup and tested at our facility prior to being installed out in the field. The range of actuators we promote and sell are cutting edge technology and are the only actuators of this type available in the world so control systems and commissioning software is completely bespoke to our products.
In this role you will need to be able to work safely on site under the supervision of water company staff while conducting site suitability reports and commissioning actuators onto live water networks. This involves booking in support with the manufacturer when needed, arranging install dates with customers, completing all pre install setup work on the actuators at our facility and ensuring customers actuators are clearly labelled and tracked throughout the process.
In addition to site work, the role will involve conducting servicing and repair of equipment with the full support of the manufacturer at our facility.
