Job Summary
We are seeking a Commercial/BD Specialist to join the Strategy BD & Market Impact Division of the LTC Business & Project Development Department. The Strategy BD & Market Impact Division is responsible for four main areas:
1. Strategy & Business Development
2. Market Intelligence
3. Economical & Financial analysis
4. General program support
The Commercial/BD Specialist's primary role is to bring insights into various Oil, Gas/Petchem markets and sectors to uncover and develop business opportunities that would lead to one of several transaction types, namely merger & acquisition, joint venture, partnership, divestitures, and/or third-party outsourcing projects. This role helps in sourcing, screening, analyzing, planning, and developing new business ventures or a portfolio of ventures; provides high-level professional expertise in the development and management of new business ventures; assists the Department in leading business portfolios and managing the development of commercial agreements; provides administrative direction to analysts in reviewing legal documents; and supports projects in managing negotiation strategy and execution.
Responsibilities:
1. Possess strong commercial acumen and adaptability to navigate in a changing business landscape.
2. Assess and recommend commercialization roadmaps for graduated projects.
3. Generate new business ideas and evaluate their feasibility.
4. Screen independent business proposals using strategic and technical criteria to prioritize opportunities aligned with the LTC strategy.
5. Provide functional expertise to evaluate capabilities and risks of proposed ventures.
6. Lead and/or support negotiations of agreements with external parties.
7. Mentor, train, and develop young professionals in the field.
8. Have a proactive mindset and the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
Requirements:
1. This role requires the candidate to permanently relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
2. Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related specialty.
3. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is highly preferred.
4. Possess at least 15 years of professional experience in business development.
5. Demonstrate a strong track record in conducting economic and commercial evaluations for major chemicals and refining projects.
6. Have a deep understanding of associated operations and the integration of assets within the industry.
7. Possess expertise or knowledge in conducting techno-economic feasibility studies.
8. Have knowledge and experience in venturing activities such as commercialization, spinoffs, or joint venturing.
9. Familiarity with project development processes and methodologies.
