A1 Jobs have an excellent opportunity to secure a QHSE Engineer for our South Lanarkshire client.
To be considered for this role you must have:
* An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification, or appropriate experience.
* An Engineering/Technical qualification or background.
* The ability to read engineering drawings.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Competence in MS Office Tools
Desirable:
* An understanding of Continuous Improvement tools.
* Experience in delivering cultural change.
* Previous involvement in Net Zero, carbon reduction programmes.
* A working knowledge of the Machinery Directive.
Main Duties
The main duties of this position are the following:
* Preparation, and ongoing review, of Risk Assessments.
* Assist in the creation, and ongoing review, of Safe Systems of Work.
* Investigate accidents and near misses, identifying corrective actions using root cause analysis.
* Help co-ordinate preventative maintenance and statutory inspections.
* Organise training and support for employees on QHSE matters.
* Take a leading role in the Health and Safety Committee
* Conduct site safety tours
* Assist with QHSE record keeping.
* Help to develop and implement QHSE policies, procedures, and programs.
* Keep abreast of the latest Health and Safety legislation and guidance.
* Administer the Company's Non-conformance Reporting (NCR) System ensuring that root causes are identified, and that robust corrective actions implemented to prevent recurrence.
* Maintain and develop the measuring equipment calibration system.
* Help drive improvement in supplier performance through onsite audits and constructive support.
