Snr Finance Reporting Manager
Contract Position
Location: Reading | Hybrid (2-3 days per week on site)
About the Role:
* This role reports into the Head of Financial Reporting and sits within the Financial Accounting Function, which is committed to delivering best-in-class accounting through efficient processes and effective management of external service providers.
* This role leads a team of 3 that looks after the accounting for the shared network with the Shareholders and Retail estate, both administered by external service providers and reporting under IFRS 16 and IAS 17.
* This role provides excellent exposure for an experienced Reporting Manager to apply their technical knowledge of accounting standards while gaining valuable experience in service level management through being empowered to challenge, implement, and lead project initiatives to improve processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the T&O (Technology and Operations) Finance team and Shareholder Finance team to oversee the recording of our share of the expenditure (Capex, rent under IFRS 16 & IAS 17, rates, and electricity) in excess of £250M per annum for over 14,000 network sites.
* Manage communication and relationships with a new Telco that has recently purchased a large volume of cell sites from the company, requiring close liaison during the transition period.
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders.
* Manage the accounting for Shareholders and Retail within the company's records under IAS 17 and IFRS 16 for leases.
* Review and approve 30 balance sheet accounts, implementing controls to mitigate or understand the severity of the risk.
* Prepare the cash flow forecast related to the Shareholder and IFRS 16.
* Lead the reporting under IFRS 16, working closely with the Supplier and Shareholder to improve the accuracy and delivery of the IFRS 16 Reporting.
Must Have:
* Qualified ACA / CA / ACCA.
* Minimum 7 years PQE.
* Experience in team management.
* Experience managing external and internal stakeholders and 3rd party contracts.
* Experience working in a month-end environment with General Ledger close processes and month-end reconciliation requirements.
* Experience working with external auditors.
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Strong Financial Accounting skills.
* Intermediate Excel skills.
Nice to Have:
* Working knowledge of Oracle.
* Experience working in a Group/Parent/Subsidiary environment.
