We are recruiting for IT Technician to provide support in Adult education college Wolverhampton.

Pay rate: £12.59 per hour
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm

Job Purpose:
Within the context of the Strategic Plan of Adult Education Wolverhampton, the post holder will play a crucial role in supporting the ICT officer to ensure the smooth operation of ICT infrastructure of the Service. They will be responsible for providing technical support to staff and students, troubleshooting hardware and software issues and maintaining ICT systems to facilitate the efficient delivery of services as required by students and staff.
Responsibilities:
Technical Support: Provide first line technical support to staff and students, assisting with hardware (including printers/MFDs), software and network issues. Respond promptly to user requests and resolve technical problems efficiently in order to minimise downtime.
Hardware Support Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, tablets, printing/photocopying devices and other ICT equipment owned by the Service.
Maintenance Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as hardware upgrades and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
Software Support: Install, configure and troubleshoot software applications including Operating Systems, productivity suites, and specialised software packages. Work collaboratively to resolve software-related issues and implement updates as necessary.
Systems Deployment & Patch Management: Deploy the current Operating System image, install any additional standard and specialised applications including antivirus security measures as required by staff and students on desktops, laptops and tablets. Add and configure devices on the in-house developed Patch Management system.
ICT Assets/Inventory: Co-ordinate logistics of ICT equipment, maintaining and keeping up-to-date the inventory/asset records and logging storage of consumables.
ICT Sustainability: Support the ICT Officer in coordinating the disposal of decommissioned ICTS equipment in accordance with CWC guidelines
Printing/Photocopying Multifunction Devices (MFD): Co-ordinate the acquisition of printing/photocopying Multifunction Devices consumables and arrange for appropriate recycling of used consumables.
Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and council policies governing the use of ICT systems and data.
Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service at all times to AEW students and staff and ensure a high-quality experience.
ICT Projects: Support the ICT Officer with projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the Service's ICT infrastructure, sustainability and improving Service delivery
