As a Catering Assistant in our school meals program, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that students receive healthy and appetizing meals. You will work closely with a team of cooks and kitchen staff to help prepare and serve meals that meet dietary guidelines while also accommodating various food allergies and preferences. Your contributions will directly impact the well-being and educational success of our students by fostering a positive mealtime environment. Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to the school meal program guidelines.
Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
Follow food safety and hygiene standards during food preparation and service.
Engage with students during mealtimes to promote a positive dining experience.
Support the kitchen team in inventory management by tracking food supplies and reporting shortages.
Help with the setup and breakdown of dining areas before and after meal service.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance food service skills.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience in a food service or catering environment is an advantage.
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Strong communication skills to interact with staff, students, and vendors.
Physical endurance to stand for long periods and lift supplies as needed.
Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including early morning hours.
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time : 09:00
End Time : 14:00
Pay Per Hour: £12.26
Location: Lewisham, South East London
