We are seeking a Service Manager for a growing Manufacturing and Engineering company to oversee the maintenance and support services for renewable energy installations. This role is crucial for ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge and have proven leadership skills in managing service operations.
Day-to-day of the role:
1. Team Leadership: Manage and supervise field engineers and support staff to ensure efficient and safe operations.
2. Service Operations: Oversee all service and maintenance activities, including scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
3. Customer Support: Serve as the primary contact for customers, addressing service inquiries, providing updates, and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
4. Field Service Coordination: Organise and manage field service operations, dispatching engineers to project sites as needed for quick and effective responses.
5. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed service records such as service schedules, work orders, repair logs, and cost tracking, ensuring compliance with standards and policies.
6. Performance Monitoring: Track equipment performance, service efficiency, and customer satisfaction, implementing improvement strategies where necessary.
7. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all service activities comply with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and safety audits as required.
8. Budget Management: Manage the service department budget to control costs and maintain profitability.
9. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement operational improvements to increase efficiency and enhance the customer experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in service management or a similar role, preferably within the construction or heavy equipment sector.
2. Strong technical knowledge of renewable energy technologies, diesel generators, and construction equipment.
3. Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team of engineers.
4. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
5. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficiency in service management software and reporting tools.
7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to the construction and equipment maintenance industries.
