Title: Mechanical Engineer

Role & Responsibilities
1. Managing and outsourcing of Mechanical design and build project elements.
2. Work alongside Design Engineers to ensure designs are fit for purpose and identify design solutions.
3. Peer review of sub-contractor produced drawings and documentation against project specification requirements.
4. Raise and manage Technical Queries through to completion.
5. Help develop and maintain a good working relationship with clients and suppliers, including the identification, assessment, and integration of new Mechanical sub-contractors.
6. Witnessing factory acceptance tests and projects sign off.
7. Supporting the scheduling and tasking information to the Lead Engineers and Project Managers to support project delivery.
8. On-site support to the Construction Team.
Person Specification
1. Minimum of a Degree, HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
2. Preferable experience from highly regulated industries.
3. Must be eligible to obtain SC clearance as a minimum.
4. Strong, demonstrable understanding of all phases of a project life cycle.
5. Strong organisational capabilities.
6. Able to approach engineering challenges pragmatically and efficiently, working with electrical engineers to ensure the integrated design realises the operational requirements of the specification.
7. Able to use 2D drawing package, preferably AutoCAD.
8. Able to interpret detailed technical specifications.
9. Understand and conversant in pertinent standards.
10. Technical writing.
11. Preferably, with experience within an ISO 9001 environment.
12. Good reporting and communication skills to inform the Engineering Leadership Team.
