Are you a Mechanical Engineer looking for your next opportunity?
A global independent Oil & Gas company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Norwich. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of diverse mechanical equipment, including piping, valves, pumps, and engine-driven generator sets.
This is a full-time permanent staff role based in Norwich and will predominantly be office-based with the ability to work-from-home 1 day per week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide mechanical engineering support across Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Metering, and Integrity departments.
2. Offer expertise during operational shutdowns and outages.
3. Analyse and enhance equipment performance to minimise production losses.
4. Implement and maintain business maintenance strategies and policies.
5. Monitor and optimise maintenance effectiveness, reducing backlogs and unplanned interventions.
6. Specify, cost-analyse, and procure replacement equipment promptly to prevent breakdowns and outages.
7. Complete necessary documentation and assurance systems.
8. Manage costs effectively, fostering a cost-conscious culture among suppliers and contractors.
9. Utilise electronic maintenance systems such as Maximo.
10. Conduct Site Assurance Surveys at both onshore and offshore locations.
11. Provide technical training and guidance to technicians and new recruits.
12. Support performance testing, assurance, maintenance, and failure analysis of actuated and non-actuated valves.
Key Requirements:
1. Engineering degree or HNC/HND with 8-10 years of experience in the oil and gas offshore industry or other regulated industries.
2. Extensive knowledge of oil and gas mechanical equipment.
3. Ability to provide timely equipment health and performance guidance to management.
4. Team player with strong work ethic, able to solicit co-operation from colleagues.
5. Knowledge of equipment specification for hazardous areas.
6. Understanding of Management of Change processes.
