We have an excellent opportunity available for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Mental Health Service, here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a Full Time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate and dynamic team, playing an integral role as we collaborate with The Health Trust to transform our services and develop a dedicated social care pathway. This role, along with the Occupational Therapist post, have been created specifically to establish a reablement offer. Reablement provision will focus on delivering short-term, recovery-focused and goal-orientated support to individuals in the community, and on discharge from hospital. Occupational Therapists will work collaboratively with care providers and Social Care Practitioners, along with voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations to ensure individuals’ needs are met. As part of this, we are keen for Occupational Therapists to conduct sensory assessments to support us to better meet the needs of our neurodiverse populations. Support care providers to develop skills to better support our population Act in a supervisory role to other team members and provide supervision Identify safeguarding adult and children concerns and implement safeguarding policies and processes. Maintain high standards of quality in clinical recording, ensuring information is recorded accurately, appropriately and kept up to date Comply with all service requirements in terms of lone working in the community. Candidate requirements: Have a degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with HCPC Have post qualification experience in mental health settings Full EU driving licence and daily access to use of a car Have comprehensive understanding of Safeguarding, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Human Rights legislation Be a skilled communicator, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and customers Be well organized with excellent time management skills.
