Teaching Assistant required to support with Medical and Mental Health Needs, working with young people in Years 9,10 and 11. Based in Yeovil, this school caters for pupils in Key Stage 4 who are not currently able to access mainstream education due to medical or mental health needs. They work closely with the students mainstream schools to provide an appropriate package of education and all pupils are expected to attend as much of the program as their health allows. We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide tailored support to students. You will be committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives and in supporting and developing their learning. Key attributes for this role are: Experience of supporting children or adults with SEN needs and/or disabilities SEND especially in SEMH. High expectations of children's progress, attainment, and behaviour. The ability to use your own initiative, focusing on solving problems. Patience, empathy and good communication skills. Organisation and resourcefulness, the ability to work under pressure with good time management skills and a sense of humour. An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships. Has emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes.
