Are you a Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or a Social Worker who is looking for an exciting opportunity to work within the Living Well Community Mental Health?
The post will be in the short term offer which will consist of carrying out initial conversations (assessment) to support people to receive support and work towards their goals to recovery.
If so then we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Mental Health Practitioner to work in South Derbyshire. This role sits within a multi-agency team, including health, social care, voluntary sector and lived experience roles, with the aim to meet the need of the local population accessing support for their mental health.
You will be provided with a full induction into the Living Well model and practice and be offered support and training in the role.
We would welcome informal visits with prior arrangement to meet our team.
Please note this post is for 2 fixed term contracts or secondments for Maternity cover. If applying as a secondment please seek approval from your current line manager first.
Main duties of the job
* To provide a caring and compassionate service with clear boundaries and expectations.
* To complete initial conversations (assessments) to help people plan what they need.
* Hold a caseload of people with deteriorating/fluctuating mental health problems and work alongside them to help achieve their goals.
* Discuss initial enquiries with anyone in the system.
* Attend Living Well Team Meetings.
* It is essential that you have good communication skills and that you operate as a well-integrated member of the multiagency team, maintaining a person-centred focus.
* You will need a thorough knowledge of relevant health and social care legislation and be able to demonstrate expertise in risk assessment and management.
* As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will have post registration experience and be able to demonstrate post-registration study and development.
* You will be expected to be a role model, offering mentoring and supervision to other staff and students.
You will need to have the ability to transport yourself and service users across a wide geographical area, without compromising service needs.

Skills and Experience
* Able to transport self around a vast area in a timely manner
* Understanding of the Recovery Philosophy, Trauma-informed practice, CBT, and relevant NICE Guidance
* Knowledge and application of professional assessments and interventions and outcome measures, relevant to client group.
* Knowledge and application of theoretical models of practice.
* Experience of working in a Community Mental Health team
Qualifications
* NMC RMN/RNLD/OT or Social Worker
* Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent e.g., practice assessor and practice supervisor
