Thesuccessful applicant will:
* Bethe focal point for contact with people who live here theirrelatives and visitors as well as health and social careprofessionals involved in their wellbeing ensuring that anyreasonable requests are actedupon and concernsor complaints are promptly investigated and dealt withappropriately.
* Beresponsible formonitoring standards of care delivered by qualified and unqualifiedcare staff by observation and direct involvement ensuring that allpeople that live here receive quality medical and personal care andthat care plans are fullymaintained.
* Takepart in CQC and North Somerset inspections ensuring all regulationsand standards are met.
* Beresponsiblefor understanding andcomplying withstatutory and legal requirements. Including COSHH health and safetyand all aspects of health and social care tomaintain a safeenvironment throughout.
* Actat all times inline with NMC Code of Professional Conduct (ifrelevant).
* Ensureall policies procedures and businessobjectives aremet.
* Preparethe staff duty rota to ensure appropriatestaffing levels at all times. Or delegatethis out
* Appraisestaff.
* Instructof all staff in safe systems of work fire safety and evacuationprocedures and induction of newstaff.
* Beresponsibleformonitoring thestate of wellbeing of each person being aware of any changeimpacting on careand care plans ensuring that new needs aremet and writtenrecords are amended to reflect anyvariation.
* Liaisewith the proprietor on the marketing of the Home to existing andpotential people who live here and relativeshealth and socialcare professionals developing links with other care providers towork together for the mutual benefit of those agencies and theHome.
* Practicesafe systems of work across the range of tasks andin particularmoving and handling of people who livehere by essing risks and having due regard for personal safety andthe safety of people who live here visitors andstaff.
* Understandpersonal responsibilities in relation to the Health and Safety atWork Act. Demonstrates a working knowledge of COSHHessments.
* Actcourteously toward people who live here and their visitorsrespecting the dignity and individuality of each person and ensureeffective communication ismaintained.
* Contributefully to team working responding positively to colleagues andaction all reasonable work instructionspromptly.
* Adviseon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks ensuringthe timely andappropriateordering of replacementgoods.
* Attendall relevant staff meetings.

Someonewho can deliver a level of care that truly comes from the heartmaking sure our residents never lose their dignity or sense ofindividuality as you get involved in general activities within theCare Home. And whether you are helping someone with limitedmobility to learn to use an aid offering emotional support to aconfused or distressed resident or delivering care to someone atthe end of their life you will always have their wellbeing in mindabove anything else.
Requirements
Youwill need to be:
* Holda First Level Nurse qualification and current NMCregistration
* Demonstratea minimum 5 years experience and up to date knowledge of caresupported by relevant post basic studies /qualification.
* Tobe fully conversant and have good working knowledge of theSafeguarding of Vulnerable Adults Regulations and DBSprocedures.
* Demonstrateknowledge and understanding of allsubsequentlegislations and disclosure requirements relevant to the runningand proper operation of a Nursing Home and all statutory compliancematters.
* Demonstrateknowledge and understanding of CQC Fundamentalstandards.
* Becomefamiliar with the Health and Social Care Act (2008/2014) andRegulations andist the Managerin implementing andobserving thesame within the Home
* Displayexcellent interpersonal ss and ability to instruct anddemonstrate careactivities and work systems tostaff.
* Demonstrateproven organisational and planning ss to ensure continuity ofcare.
* Demonstratemotivational leadership ss and promotion ofhigh standards ofcare.
* Ableto be adaptive and flexible to cover a range ofresponsibilities.
