We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our client, a successful fast-paced SME at their site in Woolpit, near Bury St Edmunds. This is a permanent, employed position working 40 hours per week from the office in Woolpit. 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday with 30 minutes each day for lunch.

They have a workforce of around 150 employees spread across a handful of sites in the UK and are continuing to grow. The Job
Planning delivery routes for multi-drop next day deliveries nationwide, this is a busy and fast paced role which would suit somebody who thrives under pressure and has an excellent geographical knowledge of the UK.
Responsibilities include:
• Nationwide multi drop next day routing for multiple depots maximising cost efficiencies
• Liaise effectively with internal departments to ensure smooth operations
• Convey accurate delivery information to Drivers
• Communicate and build relationships with suppliers, agencies, and sub-contractors
Requirements
• Previous experience working as a Transport Planner (essential)
• Strong understanding of routing processes and procedures (essential)
• Superb geographical knowledge of the UK
• Ideally, experience in coordinating multi-drop next day delivery routes
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to effectively prioritise
• Proficiency in MS Office Packages (Word, Excel and Outlook)
