Plumber - If you are a dedicated and skilled Plumber with a passion for excellence, we invite you to join our team at the United States Air Force, 48th Civil Engineer Squadron, RAF Lakenheath.
We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in performing the full range of journey level plumbing duties such as installing, repairing, and modifying water supply.
About the role:
As a Plumber at RAF Lakenheath, you will be an integral part of our 48 Civil Engineering Squadron, working independently and collaboratively to install, maintain, and repair a variety of plumbing systems including sewage, water supply, gas distribution, and more. Your expertise will ensure that the vital utility systems supporting our military operations run smoothly and efficiently. If you're a skilled plumber with a commitment to safety and excellence, we want you on our team! You will require pre-employment physical and Immunisations for this position which will be conducted at RAF Lakenheath.
Your hours of work will be 39 hours per week on a Fixed schedule Monday-Friday where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organisation's flexible working policies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Independently install and maintain various utility systems such as sewage, water, gas, and oil lines. Ensure proper flow, drainage, and sanitary conditions are upheld.
* Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to plan plumbing installations and modifications, ensuring compliance with building codes and standards.
* Conduct thorough diagnostics on plumbing systems and equipment. Identify malfunctions, isolate problems, and implement effective repairs swiftly.
* Skillfully use, maintain, and account for plumbing tools and equipment while adhering to established safety regulations.
* Follow safety practices and procedures to create a clean and safe working environment, promptly addressing any hazardous conditions.
About you:
You are a dedicated plumbing professional with extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in utility system installation, maintenance, and repair. Your strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety are complemented by your ability to work independently and as part of a team. You have the physical capability to handle the demands of the role, including working in various weather conditions and lifting heavy materials. A valid CAT B driver's license is required, and you may be asked to obtain a security clearance. NVQ Level 2 in plumbing or in an appropriate discipline to the role.
