We have an opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic and friendly in-patient rehabilitation team based at the Central England Rehabilitation Unit (CERU) This exciting post involves working very closely with a full range of other allied health professionals (AHP’s) and ward staff using an interdisciplinary approach. The post-holder will initially be required to meet the criteria in the attached Band 5 person specification with the opportunity to work towards a Band 6 role once achieving dysphagia competencies, completion of NQP competencies and demonstrating the criteria in the B6 person specification/job description. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients who have sustained a brain injury resulting in complex communication and/or swallowing disorders. You must be a team player with excellent time management skills and show enthusiasm, flexibility, adaptability and curiosity in your management. You will be supported by band 6/7 therapists and will also have access to regular supervision sessions and CPD opportunities. To work as an autonomous practitioner to provide a speech and language therapy service to in-patients, based at The Central England Rehabilitation Unit (Leamington Spa) as part of a speech & language therapy team providing interventions for a range of communication and swallowing disorders. The post holder will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and on-going management of acquired communication and swallowing disorders (when appropriately trained). The post-holder will be required to work as part of an inter-disciplinary team and to liaise with families and carers where appropriate Come and join a Trust rated Outstanding by the CQC.
