About the role
We are seeking to appoint an experienced clinical supervisor for Psychodynamic therapists. Our aim is to ensure that our therapists have consistent and appropriate support and guidance in their work, and that any issues of concern can be immediately addressed.
The role requires the clinical supervision of 10 or more part-time psychodynamic counsellors and psychotherapists who themselves will be providing therapy for a diverse student community and also clinically supervising locums and trainees. Cases can be very clinically complex.
We are looking for someone who can work part-time, flexibly, in-person or online, to fit in with the differing working patterns of our therapists over the working week. You will be managed directly by the Head of Wellbeing Services.
About you
Ideally, you will have a post-graduate level counselling qualification; current accreditation as a Psychodynamic counsellor or psychotherapist and supervisor with BACP or UKCP, in addition to relevant experience of delivering brief therapy to students in a university setting.
An innovative, risk-conscious approach, sound judgement and diplomacy, as well as the ability to work under pressure within a complex organisational structure are essential attributes required of the post holder.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships, respect confidentiality, and navigate complex situations in a sensitive and professional manner will be required. Highly developed written and oral communication skills are essential as well as a positive and flexible approach to the role and the service.
