Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in acute care?
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 5/6 Occupational Therapist to work on our fantastic NHS client’s acute in-patient wards based in Kewstoke, Somerset. The role is available for the successful physiotherapist to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week for an initial period of 3 months.
The appointed Occupational Therapist will be responsible for carrying a clinical caseload and will need to be an excellent communicator in order to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team. The postholder will also carry out individual and group interventions on the adult acute in-patient wards.
Skills and experience needed:
1. Previous experience within acute settings
2. Previous discharge planning and Oncology experience
3. Relevant degree/qualification in Occupational Therapy
4. HCPC registration
Duties will include:
5. Care-coordinating
6. Attending MDT meetings
7. Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs.
8. Assessment and intervention of individual patients needs and progress.
9. Treating patients for a range of moderate to complex mental health conditions
10. Working with other healthcare professionals
