Autism West Midlands
Autism West Midlands are the leading charity in the West Midlands for people on the autism spectrum. We use our expertise to enrich the lives of autistic people and those who love and care for them. Our passionate, expert staff and volunteers work across all age groups and abilities, providing direct support.
Our Community Services team enables autistic adults, children, and their families to access support within their local community to build resilience, confidence, and skills to actively participate in society.
In summer 2022, we commenced delivery of a post-diagnosis support service for autistic adults (over 16 years) across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The service comprises one-to-one support sessions, group personal development programmes, support groups, and workshops. Activities take place online or in community venues across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Although the role will have some working from home elements, the post holder will need to live in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire area to deliver support in the community. We also have an office in Worcester where you will work to deliver community-based interventions and admin duties. There will be face-to-face induction training in Kings Norton (South Birmingham) and occasional visits to this office for meetings.
The post holder will need a full driving license, access to a car, and the ability to work flexibly as part of a small team, including working outside normal hours when required, with occasional evening and weekend work.
