Confidence in discussing sexual health concerns or information with patients in an approachable, non-judgemental, sex-positive manner. Signposting patients via the telephone and face-to-face to the most appropriate local services. Referring patients to the nurse triage service and distributing condoms and information to patients. Provide Chaperoning, advocacy and support for patients attending the clinic for genital examination or treatment. Supporting the clinician in preparation of clinical areas and passing of instruments during procedures. Phlebotomy – obtaining venous blood sampling from patients following appropriate training and support from the Registered Nurse. Daily administration tasks and checks Booking patients in at reception, supporting them in completing paperwork and entering personal information into the IT systems. Printing labels/forms for clinical staff. Checking data and referring to clinicians where necessary Stocking the administrative supplies and the clinical room supplies Dealing with post and parcels. Ensuring that the waiting room and non-clinical spaces are kept tidy and safe from hazards. Answering the patient phone lines and looking at availability for booking appointments Working in a team to work through follow-up appointments to be booked and referrals from other professionals Completing letters on behalf of clinicians and providing administrative support including sending texts to patients, completing appointment cards and following up phone calls with patients who have missed appointments.
