Blackstone Recruitment are working with a private client based in North London who are looking to recruit a ATP Therapy Lead for a Permanent vacancy.
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Therapy Service Manager / Therapy business manager, you will provide day-to-day management and leadership of the Addictions therapy team, whilst maintaining agreed clinical hours.
Responsibilities:
Leading and supporting a team of addiction therapists at the nominated hospital. This includes ensuring smooth running of the ATP therapy programme, appropriate cover and administration is completed as needed.
Ensure a high quality inpatient programme is offered to Addiction patients that meet the requirements of our PMI partners and Priory standards. This should also extend to the Addictions Aftercare programme, which should follow the Priory framework (as detailed on the Intranet along with other expected standards for Addictions).
Facilitating regular management supervision with individuals in line with Priory policy, including time sheets, PDRs, HR policies and appropriate team Annual Leave planning to main a good service.
An agreed level of patient facing clinical hours to create leadership and line management responsibility, as agreed with the Therapy Manager. Expected clinical hours for a full time ATP lead is 15 hours per week.
Be available for any clinical issues the team may need, for example managing risk, responding to complex patient needs, supporting individual cases with a wider MDT as necessary. This includes ensuring the ATP team contribute to patient MDT meetings, ensuring relevant information is shared in a timely way (e.g. safeguarding, and any clinical issues).
Maintain proactive relationships with psychiatry and ward based colleagues to ensure an effective team approach to patient care.
Supporting the Hospital Therapy Manager as necessary with the running of the wider therapy team and attending management meetings as required.
Working with the Therapy Manager to retain therapy staff, and ensure all vacancies are recruited to
Ensure clinical audits are completed as required, which may include checks including clinical hours delivered by the team, quality checks of notes, risk assessments, delivery of groups etc or as required by the Hospital Therapy Manager
Regularly attend the Addiction network meetings, representing your hospital with key topics to be shared; and contribute to the wider development of the network with ideas and growth opportunities.
To ensure and actively support an effective working culture across the addictions team; encouraging a collaborative approach to problem solving and high quality patient experience.
Ensure suitable peer supporters are available to support the addiction programme, and they are appropriately supported and supervised by the team.
Ensuring that the highest standards of patient care are maintained and that a strengths-based approach is undertaken at all times, to promote effective patient recovery.
Knowledge, Education, Skills:
Experienced Psychotherapist accredited with a Priory recognised body such as BACP / NCPS / BABCP / UKCP
Hold a qualification specific in the field of addiction treatment, and be able to support more junior clinicians with their learning in this specialist area.
Ideally experience of leading and supporting a therapy team in an inpatient setting. Can evidence the ability to hold a case load of patients whilst also leading a therapy team.
Have the experience to understand the appropriateness of different modality approaches and when they may be indicated, linking with NICE guidelines and clinical efficacy.
Ideally be educated in offering supervision to others, or be willing to undertake additional training.
Demonstrate clear leadership skills to aide effective team working and clear decision making.
Be able to demonstrate clear and motivational leadership skills to support a diverse therapy team
A sound understanding of a wide range of therapy roles and their application in a mental health setting
Experience of supporting individuals with management supervision, and established skills in staff retention
Can give examples of showing a calm and supportive approach in demanding environments
Ideally have had experience in a commercial or business setting to show an understanding of cost management skills
Can demonstrate skills of flexibility and being able to respond to changing business needs.
Communication
Able to communicate effectively using face to face, email and team based communications
Able to proactively organise and co-ordinate therapy teams across a range of settings
Be able to work closely with the Therapy Manager and other leads for the benefit of the hospital and wider setting.
Be able to schedule and lead team meetings and promptly share minutes with agreed actions

Budgets & Equipment
Engage in an understanding of the hospital’s ADC targets for ATP and contribute accordingly with relevant activities
Work with the Therapy Manager to ensure staffing is in place within budgets
Information
Shared responsibility for the confidentiality, security and accuracy of patient records, data and information. Ensuring good quality patient documentation, which meets the Regulatory guidelines and statutory requirements.
Working Environment:
* Working hours to be agreed with the Therapy manager to support the needs of the service, which can include Monday to Saturday as the service requires.
* This role is a site based role to support the therapists and clinical team.
