About the Directorate
Energy Security and Net Zero Legal is a GLD Advisory Directorate focusing on providing legal advice relating to the UK’s ambitious energy portfolio. Its work spans policies on decarbonisation technologies, nuclear power, clean energy, energy efficiency, and climate change obligations.
Your Role
In this role, you’ll provide specialist legal and public law advice to ministers and officials, ensuring legal implications of policy are considered. You will draft secondary legislation, advise on planning decisions, and respond to legal challenges. Security clearance to BPSS level is required.
About You
To succeed, you’ll need reliable judgement, strategic thinking, and a good understanding of legal risk. You should have:
1. Public law experience, gained in private practice, academic study, or a public body.
2. Some experience in energy law (desirable).
