Job Description:
An opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic, motivated individuals who are committed to improving outcomes for young people in Torbay to join us as Community Care Workers. The roles are being offered on a fixed term basis for 6 months. The roles will involve working with social work colleagues and children and families to ensure data held within our case management system, Liquid Logic, is compliant.
You must therefore have a good eye for detail. You must be a good communicator and be able to work under pressure in order to ensure good outcomes for children and young people. You can look forward to being part of a service underpinned by a career defining Learning Academy.

This position is for a fixed term of 6 months from the start date.
This post meets the requirements for an Enhanced Criminal Record Check. This will show spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions which have not been filtered in line with legislation, plus any information held by local Police that is considered relevant to the role.

Skills
* Ability to carry out assessments, plan and deliver needs based packages of support.
* Ability to produce and maintain accurate records and reports.
* Ability to engage positively with children, young people and their parents.
* Effective communication/interpersonal skills.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Knowledge
* Understanding of basic human needs, physical, emotional and social.
* Knowledge of Children’s Act 1989 and 2004, Adoption legislation, Crime and Disorder Act 1998 (Parenting Orders and Anti Social Behaviour Act 2003).
* Knowledge of issues facing families at risk of family breakdown.
* Self awareness of own strengths and weaknesses.
Experience & Qualifications
* GCSE pass in English at Grade C or above or equivalent.
* Experience of work in a health or social care environment (paid or unpaid) with children and young people.
* Experience of working with children, young people and families displaying challenging behaviour.
* Experience of health/social care needs and services.
* Experience of teamwork.
