My client, a world leader in the development of scientific instrumentation, is looking for a Business Development Manager in Southampton to join their team.
The team has many years' experience in selling to both R&D and OEM customers. They have a range of stock crystals and waveguides and can design custom chips for their demanding customer base.
The role will involve working primarily in a technology-rich sales environment, focusing on selling existing product lines, managing opportunities from enquiry through to close, and performing some financial reporting.
This role would be ideal for a technically qualified individual looking to progress their career in Technical Sales.
Responsibilities for the Business Development Manager based in Southampton:
* Proactively create opportunities for product sales.
* Respond to enquiries and work with customers to maximize order intake.
* Support the HoS with campaigns focused on new customer acquisition.
* Develop quotes, proposals, and sales contracts in consultation with the delivery team on operational matters.
Skills & Experience for the Business Development Manager based in Southampton:
* Provable experience in a fast-moving sales environment.
* Relevant degree or equivalent (e.g., Physics, Optics, Materials Science).
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team based in the UK.
* Ability to develop new long-term relationships with customers.
