Working in a busy transport office dealing with internal drivers and allocating workloads within a set framework.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Good telephone manner and customer service skills.
2. IT comfortable at a general standard on MS packages.
3. Fundamental knowledge of vehicle route planning.
4. Good interpersonal skills, able to work independently and as part of a small multi-disciplined team.
5. Ability to multi-task and work on own initiative in a busy transport-oriented office.
6. Planning and allocating drivers' rounds for the next day.
7. Re-routing and planning of specific loads using own fleet and TPN network.
8. Allocating second runs to those drivers available to complete depending on current plan.
9. Checking clients' emails ensuring information is correct, rates, supplying the required paperwork to various customers/clients.
10. Answering telephone queries from TPN depots on general queries and giving ETAs.
11. Preparing drivers' rounds if freight is available, printing out loading lists, collection notes, run sheets for drivers to get signed.
12. Checking Implants (customers that have EDI links) and ensuring details are correct and any updates are complete.
13. Routing vehicles for the next day, planning the loads based on volumes vs vehicle size.
14. Allocating daily vehicles/drivers to cover collection points.
15. Printing labels for own fleet deliveries and issuing to the warehouse.
16. Monitoring scans on trunk vehicles throughout the shift matching details and getting warehouse to assist where required.
17. Printing out trunk drivers' manifests for each driver to take with the correct QR code.
18. Printing out all outbound manifests each night and placing in outbound folder.
19. Keeping whiteboard updated with priorities for the next day.
20. Updating drivers' list/availability for the next day ready for routing.
21. Prioritising pallet movement to the hub based on dedicated delivery days or service levels.
22. Printing out general haulage records for the next day and passing/documenting, so information can be sent to accounts.
23. Rebooking TPN jobs from other depots and recharging for final delivery.
