Teaching Personnel is seeking an Autism Support Worker to provide one-on-one support to a KS1 child at a well-regarded primary school in Fleetwood. About the Role: Working closely with a KS1 child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to ensure they have access to tailored support. Supporting the child’s emotional, social, and academic development in the classroom and during school activities. Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to implement strategies and interventions. Encouraging positive behavior and building the child’s confidence and independence. Creating a safe and stimulating environment that fosters learning and growth. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with children with autism or additional needs (in a school, care, or similar setting). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust. Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs. Understanding of or willingness to learn about strategies such as PECS, visual timetables, or sensory integration. A valid DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
