Job Purpose
We are hiring for an Apprentice Information Communication Technician to join our service desk team and undertake a Level 3 qualification.
This apprenticeship typically takes 14-17 months and is ideal for learners who possess basic IT knowledge and wish to progress to a first-line support engineer position or equivalent.
The learner will receive a qualification in the Information Communication Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship standard, certified by the British Computing Society. Upon finishing the programme, apprentices gain entry to the RITTech register of IT professionals.
Responsibilities
The Information Communication Technician apprentice will be responsible for undertaking their qualification alongside gaining hands-on working experience, based on our first-line service desk.
The apprentice will be assigned an online coach and learning portal whereby they will be required to regularly upload completed work, undertake learning and professional development courses, and meet with their coach on a regular basis to track progress.
Key topics that are covered and learnt throughout the apprenticeship include:
* Communication Skills
* Business Processes
* Fault Finding and Troubleshooting
* Cloud and Cloud Services
* Maintaining Systems
* Networking and Cyber Security
* Coding and Scripting
At the end of the learning process, the apprentice will be required to undertake an End Point Assessment (EPA) to conclude their qualification.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* An interest in ICT and desire to progress into a career in the field.
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs (ideally A*-C or 4-9) - with Maths and English being essential.
