Job Title: Roofing Estimator Location: Chesterfield Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience) Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Roofing Estimator to join our dynamic team based in Chesterfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong background in the roofing industry who thrives on accuracy, has a deep understanding of construction pricing, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in pricing and winning new projects across a variety of sectors, ensuring that all estimates are competitive, accurate, and aligned with company objectives. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for roofing projects (both new build and refurbishment). Analyse blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain current pricing information. Conduct site visits as needed to assess project scope and requirements. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and internal teams to ensure a clear understanding of project needs. Track and manage changes to project scope and pricing. Maintain a pipeline of upcoming tenders and submit competitive bids within deadlines. Evaluate tender documents and ensure all aspects are understood and covered in the estimate. Requirements: Proven experience as a Roofing Estimator (minimum 3-5 years preferred). Strong knowledge of various roofing systems (e.g., flat roofing, pitched roofing, single-ply, etc.). Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
