Reports to: Payroll Specialist Location: Luton Salary: £12.40 per hour Contract: Fixed term for 12 months, part-time (22.5 hrs) Bonus: 10% of salary (paid annually on achievement of objectives) Benefits: Benenden Health, Retail Trust, up to 25% in store discounts and free on-site parking. Working pattern: This role is for 22.5 hours, across 3 days. These days will need to be worked flexibly in coordination with payroll dates that vary month-to-month. Job purpose: As the Payroll Administrator for the UK & Ireland you are responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees within the United Kingdom and Ireland. With the primary purpose is to manage, coordinate, and execute payroll functions in compliance with local tax regulations, company policies, and relevant employment laws. This includes calculating wages, handling tax deductions, managing statutory payments, and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on schedule. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate payroll records, addressing payroll-related inquiries, and collaborating with HR, finance, and external payroll service providers to ensure seamless payroll operations. Key responsibilities: - Providing support both UK & Ireland payrolls. - Responding to payroll queries from both internal and external stakeholders. - Assisting in payroll and pension submissions. - Taking ownership for the completion of assigned tasks. - Updating HR system with payroll Information. - Administration of pensions, benefits and expenses on a monthly cycle. - Assist with the month/year-end procedures and the annual audit. - Input starters, leavers, contract changes to payroll system. - Produce payroll reports for management. - Take on ad-hoc projects as required. Key skills: - Strong numeracy and administration skills. - A working knowledge of Excel. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Flexible, pro-active and a team player. - Self-starter with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. - Organised, and able to prioritise work based on urgency. - Experience in Payroll would be preferred. - Be able to follow issues through to resolution. - Ability to maintain confidentiality.
