What's on offer?
Pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value of up to $164,696 p.a.
* Base salary range: $66.85 - $72.58 p.h. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (Nurse Grade 7).
* 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading and 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

About the role
The Perioperative Unit comprises 14 operating theatres, an 18 bay Post Anaesthetic Care Unit with current planning for an operating theatre with Hybrid capacity. The service also provides outreach services within the Townsville University Hospital (TUH) to medical imaging, cardiac services, mental health, and oncology services. The Perioperative Unit (the unit) employs more than 140 full-time equivalent nursing staff. The unit provides both elective and emergency theatres, with emergency services provided 24/7, through additional support of 'on-call' teams. The unit provides training and education to staff and has access to both an internal training room and the TUH Simulation Unit.
The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) - Perioperative Unit provides leadership and coordination of the key stakeholders to deliver a cohesive perioperative service for TUH, ensuring that the clinical teams provide excellent patient care within TUH operating theatres to maximize the health outcomes for the community. The NUM works closely with the Surgical Service Group Executive and the Operating Theatre management team to achieve the agreed outcomes and objectives of the surgical service pertaining to the Perioperative service. This position provides resource management, education, research accountabilities, and strategic management to facilitate the delivery of high-quality, best practice care to patients requiring admission to the unit.
Role requirements
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
Highly Desirable
Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field, such experience may be discipline-specific or have a service area focus.
