With a reputation for excellence and innovation, we are expanding our Process Engineering team and looking for a talented Lead Process Engineer to join us in Falkirk. The Role As a Lead Process Engineer, you will play a key role in leading process engineering and process safety functions within the business. You will work on diverse projects, providing technical expertise in process design, safety assessments, and project execution. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and develop innovative engineering solutions on large scale, industry leading projects. Key Responsibilities Lead process design activities, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications. Conduct and lead hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and other process safety assessments. Develop and implement process safety management systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Support projects from concept through to commissioning, working with clients and internal teams to achieve successful project delivery. Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Engage with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored engineering solutions. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and best practices. What We’re Looking For Essential Criteria: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline. Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) with a relevant professional body (e.g., IChemE). Extensive experience in process engineering within the Chemical, Oil & Gas, Power, or related industries. Strong understanding of process safety, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance. Proven track record in leading HAZOP studies and process safety initiatives. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers. Desirable Criteria: Master’s degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Experience in a consultancy or project-based engineering environment.
