Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Create and schedule engaging social media content
(graphics, videos, and written posts).
* Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote
our brand and products.
* Monitor trends and contribute fresh ideas for content.
* Design promotional materials, including banners,
flyers, and digital ads.
* Assist in product photography and video editing.
* Support the creation of customer proofs and
personalised gift designs.
* Write blogs for our website and share them on social
media.
* Analyse website and social media data to identify areas
for improvement.
* Create and send email newsletters to promote
products and offers.
* Assist with engraving and assembling trophies, awards,
and medals during busy periods.
* Work collaboratively across departments to support
marketing efforts.
* Ensure all marketing materials align with brand
guidelines and company objectives.

Course contents
* Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
* Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
* Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
* Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
* Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
* Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
* Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
* Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
* Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
* Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
* Use a website content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
* Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
* Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
* Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
* Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
* Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
* Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.
* Use data analysis tools to record, interpret and analyse customer or campaign data.

Your training plan
One day a week at Warrington & Vale Royal College (Warrington site) and four days in the workplace.

Other requirements
Screen Time: This role involves spending long periods working on a computer, creating social media content, designing marketing materials, and analysing website data. Fast-Paced Environment: Marketing can be deadline-driven, especially during peak seasons such as awards events, Christmas, and sports finals. Hands-On Work: During busy periods, you may be required to help with engraving and assembling trophies, awards, and medals to support the team. Flexibility & Adaptability: Marketing trends change quickly, so you'll need to be open to learning new skills and adjusting strategies. Confidential Projects: You will be involved in a major e-commerce project that is currently confidential. Discretion and professionalism are essential. Potential Relocation: This role is currently based at our shop/office in Warrington, but there is a possibility of moving to our new second building (location TBC) in the near future. While the role is marketing-focused, during peak periods, the apprentice may be asked to support other areas of the business, such as engraving and assembling trophies and awards. This provides great insight into how our business operates as a whole.
