About the Year in Industry:
We have an exciting new position created to offer students the chance to complete a Year in Industry placement within the Operations Function.
Operations supports our mission by taking the demand from our customer programmes to deliver the products and services they need to fulfil the needs of the Defence Nuclear Organisation (Ministry of Defence) in maintaining our national security.
This role will be within Non-Nuclear Operations and Transport Group. This group provides policy, standards, competency and processes to support the accountancy, control of components and other special materials.
They provide suitably qualified & experienced material control staff in facilities to ensure that movement of all material is conducted in a safe and secure manner, complying with authorized processes and regulations for transportation internally, nationally, internationally and dangerous goods.
Responsibilities:
* Leading, coaching and developing a team of material Controllers to effect material control operations - goods in processing, warehousing, distribution and verification activities.
* Material Control interface and logistics liaison with customers and suppliers in all aspects of logistics and material management activities accountable for.
* Support each business area through knowledge, systems available and other subject matter expertise for the identification of components.
* Management of Company vehicles (fleet) within area of responsibility - transport liaison officer (TLO) including the vehicle refuelling point.
* Supporting the disposition process through sentencing ensuring that formal process is adhered to and that accurate record keeping on corporate systems as items are dispatched for disposal.
Requirements:
You will be fully trained and undergo a thorough induction process when working in the operations function. Those working in the Non-Nuclear Operations and Transport Group – a full UK driving license would be beneficial.

Suitable Disciplines:
All degrees considered, but a keen interest in systems, logistics, process, planning would be useful in this area.
