Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire Salary: £12.83 per hour Start: Immediate or after half-term Contract Type: Permanent, full-time (Part-time can be arranged for the right candidate) GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming school in Portsmouth. In this role, you will provide personalised support to students with SEN, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. About the Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant (TA), you will provide tailored support to students with learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, or other additional needs. You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN. Assist in developing learning strategies tailored to individual needs. Support students with behaviour management and engagement. Work alongside teachers and SEN staff to implement support plans. Encourage independence and confidence in students. Experience working with SEN students, ideally in a secondary setting. Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills. Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively. Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to apply for one. Competitive hourly pay of £12.83.
