In this role, you’ll work closely with our designers, account managers, and SEO experts to translate client visions into engaging digital experiences. You’ll develop and maintain custom websites, integrate third-party services, and optimise digital assets for top performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Web Developer, your day-to-day might include:
1. Developing, maintaining, and optimising custom websites using PHP, HTML, CSS, SCSS, jQuery, JavaScript, Composer, Gulp and NodeJS, ensuring high standards of usability, accessibility, and functionality.
2. Overseeing version control through Git to maintain organised, efficient project workflows.
3. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to ensure smooth website performance and functionality.
4. Implementing responsive design principles to ensure optimal performance across devices.
5. Conducting rigorous QA testing pre- and post-launch to ensure smooth functionality and client satisfaction.
6. Implementing SEO principles such as proper use of headings, meta-descriptions, canonical tags, and schema markup to improve search engine rankings and drive organic traffic.
7. Optimising site speed through techniques like image compression, code minification, and caching strategies.
8. Setting up and managing DNS records for domains to ensure proper routing and website functionality and troubleshooting issues as needed.
9. Managing server environments, hosting solutions, and conducting migrations to ensure high performance, reliability, and security.
10. Staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and WordPress advancements, applying new knowledge to improve practices and client outcomes.
SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
1. Strong understanding of back-end technologies such as PHP and MySQL to create robust applications and manage database interactions.
2. Excellent proficiency in HTML, CSS, and SCSS, including JavaScript frameworks, with the ability to implement responsive design.
3. Experience with various CMS platforms, particularly WordPress, to manage and deliver digital content efficiently.
4. Knowledge in building custom-built themes and bespoke plugin creation.
5. Proficiency in Git for version control, including branching, merging, and managing repositories on platforms like GitHub or GitLab.
6. Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across departments.
7. Knowledge of web security principles, including secure coding practices, to protect websites from vulnerabilities and attacks.
8. Experience with testing and debugging tools to identify and resolve issues quickly.
9. Strong understanding of DNS management, including setting up and troubleshooting DNS records to ensure proper domain routing and website functionality.
10. Experience in managing hosting environments, including configuring server settings and conducting migrations to ensure high performance, reliability, and security of web applications.
11. Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements or priorities.
NICE TO HAVE
1. Knowledge of tools and techniques for monitoring and improving web performance, such as Google Page Speed Insights.
2. Experience with Composer, Gulp, and NodeJS.
3. Experience using Adobe packages or other graphic design tools for image optimisation to enhance website performance without sacrificing quality.
4. Familiarity with project management software for tracking tasks and project timelines.
5. Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify.
6. Knowledge of building and documenting APIs for seamless integration with third-party services.
7. Familiarity with tools like HubSpot or Mailchimp for integrating marketing efforts within web projects.
8. A passion for exploring and learning about emerging web technologies and trends, contributing to continuous improvement in development practices.
