IN SHORT
Are you interested in sharing your love of learning with inspiring and courageous young people, alongside a passionate and motivated staff team?
Our Inclusive Learning team has a fantastic opportunity to join them as a Lecturer. The Inclusive Learning team is committed to developing our students to achieve their highest potential through their chosen subject while learning invaluable skills to support them in their future. The team challenges our students to be themselves — creative, imaginative, and fantastic individuals. Their shared goal is for each student to leave the College with the tools to progress and to get the best out of their future lives. The Inclusive Learning programme offers choices for students with learning difficulties and disabilities to develop independent living and work skills in a friendly, supportive, and fun learning environment.
We are seeking an experienced teacher to oversee our Entry Level Vocational pathway programmes. These programmes are designed as a carousel-style course offering the opportunity to sample a range of subject areas, which will lead to either a specialized course in one of the areas or onto our transition to mainstream programme, New Horizons. Areas covered by the Vocational Pathways courses are retail, catering, animal care, art, digital technologies, and helping services. As the Course Team Leader, you will oversee the curriculum design and implementation of the courses and teach on the courses alongside other specialist teachers. Therefore, experience in all these areas is not essential, but some knowledge of the different areas is advantageous and would support the role. You will have access to our specialist spaces for the delivery of these courses.
Students within Inclusive Learning can expect to experience learning in the classroom, out in the community, and in our horticultural centre, with the opportunity to look after animals and run independent projects. You will be joining a team dedicated to delivering the best possible learning environment for each individual student.
MK College will treat all applicants fairly and with respect, irrespective of their background, disability, or any other individual characteristic. We particularly encourage applications from people with backgrounds which are currently under-represented within Milton Keynes College. All offers made to successful candidates are subject to satisfactory outcomes to a range of pre-employment checks, including a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS). In addition, security clearance is required for all prison services positions up to Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) level.
