As a Future Regulatory Framework Manager in our Strategy and Regulation team, you will support and influence new business model funding arrangements for hydrogen or carbon dioxide transportation, to ensure it enables delivery of the critical network infrastructure essential to the growth of the UK’s hydrogen economy, and the realisation of the UK’s net zero ambitions. About the role: In this role, you will support processes to secure additional funding for hydrogen and carbon dioxide transportation infrastructure, through agreed competitive funding mechanisms. You will provide expert advice to business areas, simplifying complex regulatory issues and requirements, and providing regulatory guidance. You will lead on key regulatory and policy topics, providing expert input into wider policy developments and discussions, as well as directly delivering high quality responses to public consultations. You will lead on Ofgem & DESNZ engagement to ensure timely decisions and the best possible deal for National Gas and consumers, whilst proactively developing a strong relationship. You will lead developments associated with the hydrogen transport business model, working with Ofgem, Government and wider stakeholders, managing the input from other National Gas experts as necessary to enable delivery of a timely and effective regulatory framework, that also seeks to optimise positions across natural gas, hydrogen and carbon capture. This role is based out of our Head Office in Warwick. The team operates on a hybrid way of working, typically spending 3 days working from the office, with 2 remotely. About you: The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, and passionate about making a positive contribution to our net zero future. You will be able to manage several parallel issues, manage ambiguity, whilst proactively driving and shaping regulatory policy. You will be able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills, have proven analytical capability, and have relevant experience of managing regulatory or commercial issues and be able to manage risk, understand complex information and have commercial acumen that can be used to make meaningful insight to drive business performance.
