Instrumentation Calibration Technician / Engineer
An Instrumentation Calibration Technician / Engineer with experience in calibrating electrical, temperature, and pressure measuring instrumentation is required for a permanent position in the Rotherham / Sheffield area. The Instrument Calibration Engineer will work Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm (possible flexibility). Competitive salary (DoE) + excellent benefits listed below.

Day-to-day duties will include:
1. Calibrating electronic/electrical measuring instruments such as pyrometry, temperature, heat, thermocouples, and thermowells to NADCAP/AMS2750D requirements.
2. Carrying out pressure, flow, and vibration calibrations.
3. Documenting and inputting data/results onto the computer and producing quality written documents.
4. If qualified/experienced, using first principles measurement techniques and operating Calypso controlled Carl Zeiss CMM's to calibrate/measure jigs & fixtures (simple to complex).
5. Following company H&S guidelines.
To be suitable for this role, you must have the following experience:
1. Preferably previous experience as an Instrument Calibration Engineer/Technician.
2. Experience calibrating Temperature/Heat/Pyrometry, Thermowells, Thermocouples, Pressure, and electrical systems.
3. Completion of a relevant engineering apprenticeship or being time-served.
4. PC literate in MS Word and Excel.
5. Good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills:
1. Completion of a relevant engineering apprenticeship or hold an equivalent engineering/technical qualification such as degree, HND, HNC, NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or above.
2. Proven customer-facing experience.
3. Experience using Eurotherm (advanced instrumentation equipment).
4. Calibrating furnace plant/electronic measuring equipment to NADCAP/AMS2750D requirements.
5. Heat treatment plant calibration/TUS/SAT tests using thermocouples/electronic measuring equipment.
6. Test rig, flow, pressure, temperature, and vibration calibration experience to traceable or UKAS standards.
7. Understanding of metrology/first principle measurement techniques to measure jigs/fixtures.
8. Operating/Programming Calypso controlled Carl Zeiss CMM to measure/calibrate parts (desirable).
9. Knowledge of importing/exporting from Excel databases and report generation from databases.
10. Experience within the Aerospace, Automotive, or Manufacturing sectors.
The successful Instrument Calibration Engineer will need to be flexible as there may be overtime and other duties not mentioned in this job description. You will have the relevant qualifications or experience, be punctual, conscientious, keen, and have a practical approach to work.
