Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 Per Day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking an Autism Specialist in Scunthorpe to provide dedicated support to students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ensure they receive the guidance and resources they need to thrive in an educational setting.
About the role:
As an Autism Specialist (ASC Specialist), you will work closely with students, teachers, and school staff to create inclusive learning environments tailored to individual needs. You will help students develop communication, social, and academic skills while promoting confidence and independence in their learning journey.
As an Autism Specialist, your key responsibilities will be:
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with Autism.
* Implement tailored strategies to support sensory, communication, and behavioural needs.
* Assist in developing personalised learning plans in collaboration with teachers and specialists.
* Encourage student engagement and participation in lessons and activities.
* Support students in managing emotions, anxiety, and social interactions.
* Implement and monitor positive behaviour support strategies.
* Work closely with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure student progress.
* Create a structured and inclusive learning environment.
* Promote independence and life skills development.
* Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
What we need in an ASC Specialist:
* Previous experience working with individuals with Autism as an Autism Specialist in a school setting is highly desirable.
* Understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition and associated learning needs.
* A degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling or a similar field.
* Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
* Ability to implement structured routines and support sensory needs.
* Experience in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques is an advantage.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
