Join a fast-growing Mechanical Contractor who deliver design and installations on a vast range of commercial projects across the commercial air conditioning in office CAT A & CAT B fit out sectors. As a Mechanical CAD Draftsman, you will be responsible for creating detailed and accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings to support the design and manufacturing process. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to translate conceptual designs into workable plans, ensuring all specifications and regulations are met. Key Responsibilities: Create 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software for mechanical systems, components, and assemblies. Work closely with engineers to understand design requirements, specifications, and constraints. Ensure that all drawings meet company and industry standards, as well as relevant safety regulations. Revise and update drawings based on feedback from the design team, clients, and manufacturers. Produce accurate and detailed technical documentation to support manufacturing processes. Collaborate with the production team to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective for manufacturing. Conduct design checks to ensure accuracy and quality of work. Assist in the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and project documentation. Support senior engineers and project managers with the development of mechanical systems and designs. Key Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as a CAD Draftsman or similar role, with a focus on mechanical engineering or manufacturing design. Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent). Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically. Knowledge of engineering standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, BS). A relevant technical qualification (e.g., HND, BTEC, or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field) is desirable but not essential. Experience in 3D modeling and simulation is a plus. Familiarity with project management software and the ability to meet project deadlines. Desirable Skills and Experience: Previous experience working in a mechanical engineering or manufacturing environment. Knowledge of the mechanical design and development of automation, control systems, or HVAC systems. Experience with CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, or welding drawings. Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) or PDM (Product Data Management) systems. Salary & Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience.
