Field Sales Manager – Northern England & Scotland
36-40k basic + 6-10k OTE + Car
Covering: Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh
THE ROLE: You’ll be joining a leading international supplier of component parts, spares and accessories for drinks vending to clients in markets including coffee, soft drinks, water, and alcoholic drinks. The role is mainly focused on business development within a portfolio of around 200 active accounts which includes many major brands. You’ll also be prospecting to find and win new customers.
Typical Duties
1. Sales planning and management in a fast-paced distribution environment (expectations typically; 3 productive field sales days, 1 regional office based telemarketing day, 1 administration/planning day)
2. To be the 1st point of technical contact for customers promoting the best solution and package to meet the customers’ needs from the complete company product portfolio
3. To meet and exceed the territory budget (sales & margin targets) and monthly business metric targets for activity (customer visits & quotations)
4. Prepare and generate product line quotations meeting company pricing guidelines and customers’ logistic needs
5. Ensure effective and timely administration (Prompt quotations turnaround, prompt follow up, CRM system kept updated, visit reports, quote status, weekly diaries)
6. Provide accurate rolling sales and product demand forecasts
7. Book own customer meetings and plan effectively to cover all the territory
8. Good general sales process knowledge and the ability to start from cold
9. The ability to grow the business by generating new leads while retaining existing customers
10. Working with internal sales team to ensure shared goals are achieved
THE PERSON: You must have experience in a field sales environment, ideally but not essentially within the drinks dispensing industries (beer, post mix, coffee, vending & water). Technical sales experience would also be beneficial. The candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills with a ‘can do’ philosophy to your activity. Be a self-starter, who can work autonomously and as part of a strong team in equal measure. Be able to keep a cool head under pressure, maintaining the ability to prioritise, organise, and plan your activity to achieve results. Education and on-the-job training qualifications will support any application, must be IT literate (Microsoft packages, CRM & ERP experience) and be able to communicate well in written and verbal form.
