Danny Sullivan Group are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a rail infrastructure project in East London with a Tier 1 main contractor.
Ideal candidate would have strong rail background on TFL or Network Rail projects as well as strong NEC experience. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive commercial support, ensuring robust cost management and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Conduct accurate cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels.
Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
Perform risk and value management and cost control.
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and manage variations, claims, and additional payments.
Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements and financial accounting.
Foster strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
Prepare detailed progress reports and monthly cost value reconciliations (CVR).
Update commercial plans and strategies in collaboration with the project team.
Supervise and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors and commercial support staff.
Promote effective interaction between the commercial team and operational site teams.
Experience/qualifications:
HND/degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
Extensive experience in commercial management within the civil engineering industry.
Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract and current Construction Law.
Proven ability in cost management, forecasting, and earned value analysis.
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
Membership in RICS or other relevant professional bodies.
