About the Opportunity: This role sits within STS in the Technology business unit. The Technology business unit is a leading global provider of innovative, proprietary process technologies and catalysts used across numerous downstream industries. KBR technologies are known for producing clean, sustainable end products, mitigating environmental impact and reducing operational hazards. In this position you will be responsible for leading studies, process design packages, basic engineering design related to syngas processing plants such hydrogen and ammonia (conventional, blue and green). The position is ideally based in KBR's Leatherhead Campus. Flexible working can be discussed. What you'll be doing Working as part of a friendly team under the supervision of director of Technology, you will lead the production of the following: - Perform screening, feasibility and conceptual studies for revamping of existing plants, designing of new plants, developing new process schemes, improving existing process flow sheets. - Development of process simulations to produce heat and material balances. - Development of process flow sheets and utility flow diagrams. - Development of equipment process data sheets. - Calculations for the preliminary design or rating of equipment and apparatus such as heat exchangers, vessels, reactors, etc. and development of preliminary system design parameters. - Preparation of process hydraulic calculations for pump and line sizing. What you will need - Bachelor's or Master Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent - Process Simulation experience (Pro II, Hysis, AspenPlus etc.) - To be willing and available to travel domestic and/or internationally - Collaborative working ethic - Exceptional technical skills and attention to detail. - Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills. - Articulate communicator who is comfortable clients facing. - Awareness and consideration of Environmental, Health and Safety importance. We'd love to hear from you if you have: - Certification as a Licensed /Chartered Professional Engineer - Design knowledge and experience in Syngas technologies, with particular focus on Ammonia, Methanol and Hydrogen processes - Competent in ASPENPLUS - Previous experience in development of Feasibility Study, Basic Engineering Design Packages (BED), Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for licensed technologies - Experience in developing and optimizing process flow schemes - Knowledge of process related standards. - Presentations skills. - Familiarity with operating hydrogen and/or ammonia plants would be considered as a plus.
