A Full time 10 PA Inpatient Specialty Doctor Post to a female 22 Bed acute Mental health Ward
The role involves helping the consultant psychiatrist with daily tasks such as participation in ward reviews, mental health act paperwork and Tribunal related work. Supporting the junior doctors on the team alongside wider MDT working.
There are ample opportunities for career growth and development. It is expected that successful applicants participate in departmental management and clinical governance.
Alongside other senior trainees within the department the successful applicant will be expected to provide leadership and support to junior doctors within the department.
Main duties of the job
The post involves Inpatient service based on North Ward, Irwell unit single sex Female ward 22 beds capacity. The doctor will join a friendly, well-established inpatient working Age Psychiatry Service which altogether includes one full-time Consultant, one full-time speciality doctor and at least two trainee doctor-a GP trainee and an FY2 dr. The team works closely with CMHT sectors the EIT team and Home treatment team.

Education/Qualification
Essential
1. MBBS or equivalent
2. Section 12 approval or willingness to seek approval
Desirable
3. MRCPsych or equivalent MSc
4. Registered as completed Higher Training with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
5. Progress towards additional Post Graduate Degree, such as MSc. or MD.
Skills /Knowlegde
Essential
6. Good Interpersonal and team working skills.
7. Leadership skills
8. Knowledge of relevant requirements and legislation such as the Mental Health Act, Care Programme Approach etc.
Desirable
9. An additional area of relevant special interest ECT
10. Actively involved in continuing professional development.
Experience
Essential
11. A minimum of 4 years post graduate experience, at CT, ST or Staff Grade level
12. Experience relevant to working Age Psychiatry
13. Experience of teaching and training.

16. Worked for a total of 10 years since primary qualification (which is acceptable by GMC for full/limited or temporary registration)
