Who are you?
You are a qualified Fitter Machinist with at least two years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained in a workshop environment. Skilled in heavy machining, you excel in lathe and milling work, consistently delivering high-quality results. You have a passion for refurbishing and restoring large power station components, coupled with a strong mechanical intuition. Your curiosity about how power stations operate drives your understanding of their critical role in Tasmania’s renewable energy future.
About the role:
To put it simply… you'll be working on components of Hydro machines to support the delivery of our Major Works refurbishment program, replacing hydropower assets that have been in operation for over 100 years!
As a Fitter Machinist, you will be…
* Carrying out fitting and machining tasks on hydro equipment and assets.
* Working on a variety of components, including turbine parts, gates, and large valves.
* Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other specialists.
* Gaining hands-on experience with the unique machinery in the Cambridge workshop.
* Mentoring and supporting Trainees and Apprentices.
