Junior Clinical Fellow, Stroke Services
This is a full time fixed term post for 9 months (until August 2025) appointment to a Junior Clinical Fellow (STR3+ Equivalent) within the Stroke Service.
A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.

The post will be based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Norwich Community Hospital Trust. Features of the Stroke Service:
• High volume service – upto 1200 strokes per year, 1000+ people assessed in the rapid access TIA Clinic
• Active stroke thrombolysis service 24/7
• TIA clinics providing same day service to most patients
• Stroke Rehabilitation
• Academic Department – Active participation in multi-centre + local studies. Excellent opportunity to become involved in research and clinical audits.
• Members of Consultant Staff include Dr Nav Shinh (Clinical Lead), Dr Kneale Metcalf, Dr Chit Hmu, Dr Rajesh Rajakunjaram, Dr Paddy Sutton and Dr Abdel Rahman Saleh and Dr Muhammad Rafiq. The Neurology Consultants also jointly run the TIA clinic.
• Active participation in the regional stroke teleconference held monthly
• Excellent supporting Radiology, Vascular Studies, Vascular Surgery
The Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) is one of the busiest teaching trusts in England. • Cromer and District Hospital is located in Cromer on the North Norfolk coast and serves the North Norfolk population. It was redeveloped in 2012 to replace the 1930s-founded hospital. We provide a wide range of consultant-led outpatient services, day case operations and a Minor Injuries Unit (MIU). The trust is commemorating 150 years of a hospital in Cromer in 2017/18.
