Job summary
There has never been a more exciting and innovative time to work in our Aseptics team. We are a dynamic and fast paced team who are truly dedicated to creating products that help treat patients with cancer. Aseptics are a team within our Pharmacy department who are responsible for supporting the Trust with making medicines such as Chemotherapy and Radiopharmaceuticals, made in a highly sterile environment, which we give to our patients. You would be at the forefront of a service which supports our patients when they are at their most vulnerable - helping to save lives by assisting making treatments.
We are known for growing our own, and you can be a part of this. We offer extensive career pathway development, allowing our staff to work their way from assistant level to senior manager/lead technician roles, supporting them to do so through funded training. If you have the desire to work hard and progress, we can make it happen.
We need people with the right aptitude and we can teach you the rest. Applicants should thrive in a fast paced environment, display the Trust values, be highly motivated, flexible and have a positive attitude; with an enthusiasm to develop their skills and support an ever evolving team. You should be able to work as part of a team but also be able to demonstrate initiative and work in a professional and timely manner with acute attention to detail.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our growing team of Assistants, Operators and Technicians. The post holder will be involved in a broad range of activities in the Aseptic Services Unit of the Pharmacy, which will be the primary base. Duties will include assembling pharmaceutical products such as radiopharmaceuticals, chemotherapy and monoclonal antibodies and assisting in the daily running of the Aseptic Services Unit, including decontamination in line with strict procedures and microbiology sampling.
We are committed to developing the role of Pharmacy Assistants and are increasing the involvement of Assistants in all areas of the department. Full training will be provided and there may then be an opportunity to undertake further training courses.
You should be able to work as part of a team but also be able to demonstrate initiative and work in a professional and timely manner, with acute attention to detail. Applicants must have a good general standard of education.
The role requires you to have a current right to work in the UK, which enables you to undertake the role without need of sponsorship. Under current UK immigration rules this role is not eligible for sponsorship and it is not possible for the Trust to sponsor applicants for a visa for this role. Accordingly, we regret that any application will not be considered if this requirement is not met.
