The I&M Implementation Manager is responsible for providing support to the I&M manager to develop the detailed design of the monitoring required to control the works and the design of the Instrumentation and Monitoring Systems necessary for assessing the effects of the works on infrastructure within the zone of influence of the tunnels and other excavation works.Management of all surveying and monitoring works for the project from scope definition and procurement to implementation and control. This includes control and monitoring of the works and the monitoring of all affected infrastructure. Management of the equipment and output (data presentation).Manage I&M subcontract in accordance with the works requirements.Implement the I&M action plan and follow any actions described in the action plan and CMP (Contractors Monitoring Plan).Liaise with NR to report on I&M
Key Responsibilities
Design and Planning Stage
* Support the I&M manager to manage the monitoring designer to ensure successful completion of the monitoring design sufficient to assure HS2 and key Stakeholders.
* Identify and manage safety, programme, cost, environmental and community risks involved with monitoring and survey design
* Develop I&M implementation scope and lead on I&M implementation procurement
Implementation
* Manage all site-based staff, workers and subcontractors related to monitoring, including recruitment of suitable and appropriate staff
* Identify and manage safety, programme, cost, environmental and community risks involved with monitoring and survey
* Maintain daily record of all monitoring activities on site (including personnel attendances, equipment problems, safety issues and improvements)
* Ensure that all data acquisition is processed and analysed correctly
* Produce daily results and changes in readings reports
* Maintain and manage all setting out documentation
* Authorise requisitions for materials, plant and equipment and payments to subcontractors
* Bring non-conformances to the attention of the Engineering taking immediate corrective action whenever possible.
* The preparation of monitoring and survey reports
* Supervise, train and instruct survey related personnel to ensure quality, timely and safe work practices
* Prepare Method Statements and procedures for all site based survey activities
* Enforce the instructed methods of surveying and monitoring as defined in the method statements and procedures are adopted

Qualifications, Certifications & Experience
* Relevant experience within a similar role within an appropriately sized engineering organisation.
* Educated to degree or higher level or equivalent in a numerate discipline, typically Engineering discipline (or related). A lower educational level, typically HNC or HND, is acceptable where a relevant experience in a senior technical engineering role can be demonstrated.
* Relevant experience in projects with NR interface
* Membership of an appropriate Professional body, typically Chartered member of Institute of Civil Engineering or an international equivalent professional status.
Technical Competencies
* Have excellent communication skills (including presentation skills) in English, both written and verbal and the ability to report at both Project and Board level.
* Ability to manage teams of people in a multi-disciplinary environment. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead and manage own time.
A good working knowledge of the:

* other relevant legislation
