Great opportunity to work for a leading Energy Company that designs and develops long-duration energy storage solutions for utility and distributed power systems. This role will be working on the construction of a milestone project in the North-West, just outside of Manchester on a new Renewable Energy Storage Power Station.
The Role:
1. Lead the commercial management of two construction contractors (Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation construction works and Civil works) operating under NEC forms of contract.
2. Monitor contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, timelines, and quality standards.
3. Review and make recommendations to the senior project leadership team on early warnings, compensation events, project manager instructions, etc.
4. Manage the variation process, change orders, and ensure disputes are minimized and resolved effectively.
5. Oversee and manage the payment application process, including accurate progress measurement and timely issuance of payment certifications, payless notices, etc.
6. Oversee the procurement process for various specialist subcontracts, including but not limited to HV and LV connections, E-house construction, modularised PARs, jetty construction, logistics management, etc.
Required Experience:
1. A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent).
2. 15+ years of experience in a project commercial management role within the construction or energy sectors, with experience managing large, complex projects.
3. Strong understanding of NEC forms of contract, including cost management, change management, and claims processes.
4. Experience managing multiple contractors and subcontractors across different scopes, with particular expertise in managing M,E&I and Civil works.
5. Experience with the procurement and execution management of subcontracts for large-scale projects.
