HSE ADVISOR - EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND BUSINESS CONTINUITY
Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator based in Aberdeen is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor (Emergency Response and Business Continuity) for a 9 Month contract role (PAYE or Limited Company).
The ideal candidate would be experienced in managing all aspects of an Operating companies Emergency Response and Business Continuity arrangements. Previous experience organising and facilitating a Tier 3 (SOSREP) exercise would be advantageous. Experience in other aspects of Operational Health and Safety would be beneficial but not essential, and the candidate should be comfortable communicating across all company levels including members of the Executive Leadership Team.
Familiarity with related standards such as ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management would also be beneficial
Scope of Work:
Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, the HSE Advisor (ER and BC) has primary responsibility for the development, maintenance and testing of the company's emergency response and business continuity arrangements, across the client's business. In each area, the advisor will ensure the organisation and arrangements are appropriate, aligned with industry, tested and available should they be required.
Working in a flexible team, the advisor should be capable of providing support to colleagues on related projects and tasks where required.
Main Tasks include:
Driving continuous improvement in Emergency Response and Business Continuity performance.
Define, develop, and test Emergency Response and Business Continuity provision through a series of planned exercises, implementing identified corrective measures and improvement opportunities.
Oversee organisational training and competency requirements for personnel with emergency response roles and responsibilities.
Provide specialist expertise regarding compliance with related aspects of the company management system, relevant regulatory requirements, and industry good practice.
Liaise with specialist internal and external resources and key stakeholders to support the development and maintenance of a robust and resilient emergency response organisation.
Support the identification and assessment of risks to ensure they are properly documented and controlled.
Provide technical support in the development of related management system documents, acting as custodian or approver as required.
Representing the client on external industry forums and workgroups.
Lead and participate in investigations and the identification and application of lessons learned.
Conduct assurance activities such as self-verification, formal technical assessments and audits as required.
